About the flag

Senegal's flag has three vertical bands of green, yellow and red, with a green five-pointed star in the centre. It uses the pan-African colours: green is linked to hope, yellow to wealth and the arts, and red to life and the sacrifices of the nation. It was adopted in 1960.
