About the flag

Norway's flag is red with a blue Nordic cross edged in white. Like other Nordic flags, the cross is set towards the flagpole. It was designed in 1821, while Norway was in a union with Sweden, and combines the red and white of Denmark's flag with blue. It is sometimes called the mother of flags because the crosses of several other Nordic flags can be seen in it.
