About the flag
Iraq's flag is three horizontal stripes of red, white and black, with the words "Allahu Akbar" written in green Kufic script in the white stripe. The colours are the Pan-Arab colours shared with several neighbours. The current version dates from 2008, when the three green stars of the earlier flag were removed.
