About the flag
Moldova's flag has three vertical bands of blue, yellow and red, with the coat of arms in the centre: a golden eagle holding an Orthodox cross in its beak, with a shield showing the head of an aurochs. The colours reflect Moldova's close historical ties with Romania. The flag was adopted in 1990.
Often confused with
Andorra's emblem is a crowned shield with a motto, not an eagle.
Romania's flag is the same colours with no emblem.
