About the flag

Ecuador's flag has a yellow stripe on top, taking up half the flag, then blue and red, with the national coat of arms in the centre. The coat of arms shows an Andean condor above Mount Chimborazo, the country's highest peak, and a steamship on the Guayas River. The stripes come from the flag of Gran Colombia, which Ecuador once shared with Colombia and Venezuela.
