About the flag

Côte d'Ivoire's flag is a vertical tricolour of orange, white and green, with orange at the flagpole. It was adopted in 1959, just before independence from France, and follows the French vertical-tricolour layout. Orange is usually explained as the savanna and the land, white as peace, and green as hope and the country's forests.

Ireland

Ireland uses the same colours the other way round, with green at the flagpole, and its flag is longer. Orange at the flagpole means Côte d'Ivoire.

Italy

Italy's flag is green, white and red. If one outer band is red, it's Italy.
