About the flag

Pakistan's flag is dark green with a white vertical band at the flagpole and a white crescent and five-pointed star in the centre. Green represents the Muslim majority and the white band the country's religious minorities. The crescent stands for progress and the star for light and knowledge. It was adopted in 1947, just before independence.
