About the flag
The Philippines' flag has two horizontal stripes, blue on top and red below, with a white triangle at the flagpole. In the triangle are a golden sun with eight rays, for the first eight provinces that rose against Spanish rule, and three golden stars for Luzon, the Visayas and Mindanao. In wartime the flag is flown with the red stripe on top.
